        Foss Lake is located eleven miles West of Clinton, Oklahoma, then two miles North on Highway 44, or about seven miles North of Foss, Oklahoma on Highway 44. Construction of the dam began in October 1958. The dam is 30 ft wide at the crest, 142 ft high and 18,130 ft long. The cost  for this venture was Eight Million Dollars. Water Storage began in February 1961. Completion of the recreational facilities was in October 1962. Three boat ramps and four picnic areas were added at a cost of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars.

        The park now boasts  1,749 acres of land & 8,800 acre of water. The park has 8 campgrounds consisting of 110 Campsites,  Swimming Beach, Boating, 6 Boat Ramps, Water Skiing, Fishing, Playground, Marina, Restaurant, Paddle Boating and a Gift Shop. The park also has 19 miles of equestrian  and multi use trails

        Foss State Park sits on parts of the 60 miles of shoreline of western Oklahoma's largest lake, Lake Foss. Recreational activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, boating, paddle boating, swimming and camping. Facilities include 137 total campsites, 115 with water & electric, 10 with sewage hookup. Equestrian campsites, picnic areas, 2 group picnic shelters, 5 comfort stations with showers, 5 boat ramps (4 are lighted), 3 playgrounds, a swimming beach, a marina and a full service restaurant. The marina offers groceries, bait/tackle shop, boat rentals and storage, paddleboat rentals and indoor fishing dock. Warrior Trail, a 17-mile multi-use trail, can be enjoyed by hikers, equestrians and mountain bike enthusiasts.

        Park Office open from 8am to 4:30pm, 7 days a week; Open Monday through Friday October 15 to May 1. Campgrounds are open year round, except for the North campground, which closes from November to May. Campsite prices range from $8 for primitive and unimproved sites without utilities to $18 for preferred location RV sites with all utilities. Group picnic shelters are available for $35 per day. Season, site location, facilities, etc., may affect prices. Groups can rent the whole North side campground, 15 sites with water & electric, for $200 with a minimum of two days. Reservations are not taken for holiday weekends.

This year "Christmas in July" will be Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12th which is the weekend following 4th of July. There will be a lighted boat parade, lighted camper contest, a Jet-Ski scavenger hunt, music and dance ending Saturday night with  a large fire works display. In the park we will have several food concessions and a number of and vendors of all types. This year the celebration will fall on July the 9th and the 10th. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the events during the day, boat parade, and fireworks display.

Portside Cafe is one of the finest restaurants around and is located at the Marina Del Ray on the lake. Access is by car or boat. The Marina also has jet ski and pontoon rentals available.
